They offer consultancy, requirement studies, analysis and programming, training and support. The solutions they offer, are based on partnerships with leading software and hardware partners. The company is looking today for a Senior Oracle DBA (at least 5 years relevant experience)

As a Senior Oracle DBA, you…

- define system and DB architectures for new or ongoing projects, and assist in and follow-up the implementation of these architectures;
- evaluate, design, implement and monitor database security standards;
- elaborate operational database guidelines and procedures;
- create, review and update technical documentation;
- assist developers to make efficient use of the database;
- design databases;
- implement high-availability architectures, e.g. clusters;
- design, implement and follow-up database backups/restores (using Legato, RMAN, exports/dumps, online and off-line backups, ...);
- design and implement disaster/recovery solutions.

You are responsible for:
- technical database Systems operation activities,
- technical Database Change and Configuration management activities, and  
- Incident and Problem Management activities.

Profile

Education and certifications

- Higher education in Computer Science or equivalent
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle 9i or higher

Languages, protocols, standards and methodologies:

SQL; Backup and Recovery; Alerting and Monitoring; Windows Scripting; Unix Scripting

Technical environment, tools and products

- Oracle Database 9i release 2 or higher
- Windows 2000 Server or higher
- Oracle DB Security hardening
- High-availability solutions: stand-by DBs and /or Clustering (Oracle RAC and/or Oracle Failsafe)
- Centralised Backup Software (e.g. Legato, Veritas) installation, configuration and execution
- UNIX in general; Solaris 8 or higher in particular
- Oracle Enterprise Manager tools and RMAN
- TOAD (min. V8.x)
- Oracle 10g (or higher) Application Server
- Web Server software like Apache or IIS
